Hello everybody, I hope you are all well and basking in the light of the divine. Well, well, well, a couple of days ago I took part in my first family constellation experience. A friend of mine had mentioned a few times how it profoundly changed her relation to her family members and so I thought I would give it a go. The first day of the workshop, just at the beginning of the day I was sitting in a circle with the other partecipants wondering how it all worked and my biggest fear was ' what if I don't get anything out of it???'... fear that I then expressed to the group...( and I was not the only one). My two first big 'ah a moments' happened the first day and it was while I was in the role of representative for somebody else. I don't believe in coincidences so it happened that I was representative in a family situation that in many aspects was a reflection of my own family situation..and this happened twice, two different constellations...I think a first shift happened during these two constellations, I was there in the 'field' thinking ' OMG this is exactly the dynamic of my family!'.
My own constellation was done on the second day. Also, another funny thing happened: there were 3 constellators, in other words 3 people running the workshop and on the first day I thought I was sure who of the 3 I wanted to do my constellation, reason being I liked the way she worked and each of the 3 runs the constellation in slightly different ways. On day two though, I was sitting in the circle and they called up for somebody to stand up who wanted the constellation done. It wasn't the constellator that I wanted but I big push from somewhere inside of me made me get up and go towards the constellator...to cut the story short, she was the perfect person for my constellation and the experience of it was profound, insightful, powerful. I don't believe in coincidences I believe that if we can trust the process we will always find ourselves in the right place at the right time and get the best healing that is available for us.
I deeply recommend family constellations, they give a deep insight and understanding of family dynamics and can be a powerful tool to be combined with other self-development work.
